THAMES GIRLS' CLUB.
The sixth annual meeting of the Thames Girls' Club, incorporated, was held in the Druids' Hall, Newton, on Tuesday evening, when the patroness, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, presided. In moving the adoption of the balance-sheet, Mrs. Campbell heartily congratulated the club on its financial position, which is unusually satisfactory in view of the depression. During the year the members held a jumble sale, the proceeds of which were divided between the St. John Ambulance Association and the Tararu Cemetery renovation fiind, Thames. Parcels of clothing and jam were also donated ' to the St. John Ambulance district nurses. The members also staffed a stall in Queen Street for the St. John Ambulance street collection, and their efforts were very successful. After the business had been concluded, an enjoyable programme was rendered by the following artists:— Mrs. Newbury, Missds Andrews and Piatt, pianoforte solos; Mrs. Snowling. songs; Miss Smythc, elocution; Mr. Newbury, humorous items; Mr. Bond, songs; and items by the Thames Girls' Glee Club. A birthday cake, made by Mrs. Stubbing and donated by the committee, was cut by two life members, Mesdames Jansen a..d Smith. The following officers and committee were elected: —Patroness, Mrs. A. D. Campbell; vice-patroness, Mrs. G. R. Hutchinson; president, Mrs. Hubber; vicepresidents, Mesdames Aitken, Fogarty and Miss Die!:; auditor, Mr. J. Crawford; secretary,' Mrs. 'Miller; treasurer, Miss J. Aitken; committee, Mesilayies Andrews, McPlierson, Stubbing, Wright, Davison, Mclntyre, Gribble, Nicholls, McGeehan, Taylor, Thorburn, Bos well, " Misses Gillespie and Rowlings.
