POLICE CHIEFS.

VISIT TO LAKEY FARM. MURDERER'S PROBABLE TRAIL. A visit to the Lakev farm was paid this afternoon by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. W. G. Wohlmann, and Superintendent S. Till, in charge of the Auckland district. After lunch at the farmhouse the commissioner and the superintendent conferred with Chief-Detective Sweeney and Detectives Snedden, Ailso pp and Findlav. They examined the guns which were recovered from the swamp yesterday. Later the commissioner and the superintendent were conducted over the probable trail of the suspected murderer, and the theory of the investigating detectives was fully explained. With the arrival of the commissioner's car from Auckland came waders, which were issued to every man on the job. The waders were obtained from the Public Works Department. Thus, after sixteen days, the men have been given equipment which is essential to their .job.
