WINOOKA.
TO RACE TO-DAY. THE BALTIMORE HANDICAP. A SIX rURLONG EVENT. (Received 1 p.m.) ! PIMLICO, Octobcr 31. Continued sunny weather has made the local track hard and fast for to-morrow's Baltimore Handicap, of 60 dollars each H with 2500 dollars added, six furlongs. Winooka has 8 8, Gold Step 8.5, Tambour 8.4, Good Advice 8.3, Spring Steel 8.3, Okapi 8.1, Curacao 8.0, Character 7.n| Bold Lover 7.11, and Hope To Do 7.10. Winooka was transfeiTed to new quarters on Saturday, but in a work-out did not handle the sharp turn on the Pimlico track well. Mr. R. Nay lor stated he hoped to arrange a match race at Belmont Park if successful to-morrow, but not with EquipoiseM. Poison, the trainer, stated the hard track here should suit Winooka if he can handle the home turn, and he expects fast time to be recorded. Winooka drew No. 1 position, which is considered a disadvantage, because the horse must come round a slight bend before reaching the main track. Although his jockey, E. Britt, has been criticised for the manner in which he rode Winooka in his last race, it is announced, nevertheless, that he will have the mount to-morrow!
