FEDERAL PARLIAMENT.
MEMBERS INCREASE SALARIES. CANBERRA, October 20. A surprise move was made in the House of Representatives to-day when by 44 votes to 16 members had a provision included in the Financial Relief Bill to increase their salaries by £75 a year, making the amount £825. The Labour party voted solidly with the Government. The extra cost annually will be nearly £10,000, and the move is causing considerable public indignation.
