100 Miles Championship.—Won by Ralston. —Five Minutes Cut Off Record. j (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. A record field of 00 cyclists left New Plymouth this morning on the - annual "round (he mountain" race. The weather was bad. tint improved considerably, although the riders faced a stiff wind in the early stages. \ The race was won by O. Relic (Midhirst) after a thrilling finish, in which he headed a large group of other riders. Details : — O. Belk (Midhirst). IS.O 1 S. Weir (Cliristcliurch). 10.0 2 M. .Tones (Christchureh), 15.0 3 11. Eva (New Plymouth), 15.0 4 D. R. Millier (Gisborne), 15.0 5 Fastest time: A. Ralston tDunedin). He finished thirteenth and secured the Dominion 100 miles championship. Ilis time, 4 hours 22 minutes, was 5 minutes 32 seconds better than the record. T. Haw (New Plymouth), off scratch, secured second fastest time. »
