BIRKENHEAD AND NORTHCOTE CLUB.

The official/ opening of the Birkenhead and Northcote Tennis Club's courts for the season took place at Northcote this afternoon. The president, Mr. L. S. Maxwell, congratulated members on the continued success of the club and said the ten chip courts were in excellent condition. The ball used in the opening ceremony was the sr.cue as had been used for the last 13 years at similar functions. The visitors played progressive tennis during the afternoon.
