HERNE BAY SAILING CLUB, First Race Postponed. The first race of the Heme Bay Sailing Club, which was to start this at'terno,on at -.3U off the I'onsonby wharf was postponed owing to the fresh westerly breeze. This club was formed during the winter to promote sailing amongst the youths of the district in what has been, termed the midget class, promoted by Messrs. Geo. and Ivo. JDennes, of Heme Bay. Tlfe boats are of various types with a limit of lift Gin long. The boats ready to take part this afternoon were Nancy, Heather, Blue Bell, Nemo, Comet, Hiker, Swastika, Sea I'earl, Nipen and Champ. A new boat built by Vince Hogan for I: Dennes, which will be sailed by Master Bob Bell-Booth, is to be launched nest Saturday at '2 p.m. The race, which is lor a cup presented by one of the club's supporters, will be held next Saturday, starting off the I'onsonby wharf at 2.30 p.m. The cup is to be won outright on the day.
