DRIVER KILLED.
FOUND UNDER LORRY.
CRASH ON NARROW ROAD. DEATH OCCURS INSTANTLY. (Bj Telegrapli.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. ■ A lorry driver was killed instantly when a motor lorry crashed over a bank on the road between Iloreke and Okaihau, via Utakura, lafct evening. The victim was George Walter Marsh, a single man, aged 25, who lived with his parents in Okaihau East. The tragedy occurred while the young man was engaged in carting sand from Horeke to Okaihau for Mr. A. J. Rowsell, carrier. About 7.30, when he was nearly opposite Mr. G. Bernard's home, the lorry left the road and rolled down a bank. The accident was discovered a few minutes later and the driver was found under the lorry with a wheel resting on his body. His neck was broken and he was d&ad. There was no one else in the lorry. The road is narrow and winding in places and has a rough surface. An inquest was opened to-day and was adjourned after formal evidence had been taken.
