GOVERNMENT'S PLANS PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE EAST COAST CONFERENCES (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WAIROA (H. 8.), this day. The Mayor, Mr. H. L. Harker, lias received advice from Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P. for Girjbornc, that the Prime ftfinister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, has agreed to the setting up of a Parlia-
mentary committee to meet delegates to go into the question of rating, and the payment of rates, by the Crown, as requested at the conference of local rating authorities which was held at Wairoa on June 10. The personnel of the committee or the date on which it will meet has not been supplied.
