RAILWAY ARRANGEMENTS.
LABOUR DAY EXCURSIONS.
Excursion trains to and from all parts of the province have been arranged by the Railway Department for next weekend, when Labour Day falls. The most popular trips promise to be those to National Park and Rotorua. The fares in most instances are approximately the same for the return journey as the usual fare ' for the respective single journeys. On Saturday a train will leave at 1.15 p.m. for Waitomo Caves and National Park. Five minutes later the Rotorua and Te Aroha train is due to leave. A special one-day excursion from Whangarei leaves the northern town at 6.10 a.m. A further week-end excursion is being run' from Hikurangi, the trains leaving at 1.50 p.m. on Friday and 5.40 a.m. on Saturday.
On Monday a special race train will leave at 7.4 a.m. for Cambridge, and the usual 4.20 p.m. Frankton train will be delayed until 5.30 p.m. in order to give country visitors a long day in the city. The Department is advertising the alterations to be made in the usual suburban services which will be necessary in the week-end.
