CANCER CURES.
Encouraging Results of Treatment. AMERICAN . STATISTICS. (Received 2 p.m.) CHICAGO, October 12. Professor Allan, who participated in (he American College of Surgeons' symposia on the importance of accurate hospital records and national broadcasting on the pre-natal care of women, informed the Australian Press Association that discussions at the congress indicated that cancer was curable and revealed encouraging results of the treatment at American centres. Emphasis is being put on early diagnosis and further education of the public. Statistics adduced of known cancer cures of all types, without recurrence in five years, totalled *24,448. Professor Whitehouse, representative of the British College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said that cancer undoubtedly was increasing in England and Wales, where 60,716 persons died in the last 12 months.
