GOLDEN WEDDING.

MR. AND MRS. H. 0. COOPER. The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. 11. O. Cooper, of Waihou, was celebrated this week, and was attended by relatives from many parts of the Dominion. Mr. B. G. Cooper welcomed the assemblage. Mr. C. Cates refeh-ed to the invaluable assistance given by Mrs. Cooper to her husband, especially in times of stress, through which they had passed in their earlier days. The toast of "The Bride and Bridegroom" was proposed by Mr. Henry Jackson, of Devonport, who said he had known Mr. and Mrs. Cooper before their marriage. There is a family of eleven children and 41 grandchildren. Mr. F. Hansen and Mr. P. A. Swney testilied to the good qualities of the principals, and in replying, Mr. B. G. Cooper said that he, with other members of the family, owed everything to the father and mother, whose splendid example was responsible. The threetiered cake, surmounted with golden bells, was then cut.
