E. Hoi land. A request by the local branch of the R.S.A. that the privilege of visiting patiente in hospital during eveninge be extended members of the branch was refused. The monthly report showed that during September 89 patients were treated, 57 discharged and 32 left in the hospital. Tenders for supplies were accepted as follows: Fish, Mr. W. Caklwell; milk, Mr. A.'H. Biaekmorc; bread, Mr. E. Heffernan; carting, Mr. R. Patemon; butchers' meat, Mr. H. L. A warm discussion followed a motion by Colonel Jowscy to rescind a resolution carried at the August meeting of the board making the minimum age for hospital aids IS years, instead of 20. Colonel Jowsey submitted that the resolution was not in order as the Act provided that no by-law could come into force until it was approved by the Minister. The chairman said that no local body strictly adhered to the letter of the law. The board had altered fees on several occasions. •Colonel Jowsey replied that the question had nothing to do with the fees and alleged that tho former resolution had been carried as the result of team work. This remark was resented by a section of the board. Colonel Jowsey's motion was defeated by seven votes to two.
