MISSIONARY UNION.
Yesterday at. the Baptist Tabernacle, Queen Street, Auckland, the annual business session of the Baptist Women's Missionary Union was held in connection with the fifty-first annual assembly of the Baptist Union of New Zealand. The delegates from, various churches in the Dominion were welcomed by Mrs. Guy Thornton, and Miss Davis welcomed Mrs. Harry Jones, who is on the eve of her return to India, and Miss Cowles, who has returned on furlough. Greetings were received from India "■am the veteran missionary, Miss J3eck-mg-sale, and from Miss Rice. Miss Gainsford, the Dominion secretary, reported a slight increase in membership, encouraging news from missionaries in India, and constant sacrificial labour of members'. The Dominion treasurer, Miss Wilkinson, reported a slight increase in the general fund, which reached £1013 for the year, and was the result of much sacrificial giving.
