AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION'S WORK.
The thirtieth annual meeting of the Automobile Association was held last evening, the president, Mr. A. Grayson, presiding. The annual report and balancesheet, details of which were published in the "Auckland Star" on October 3, wets adopted. Mr. Grayson said that the year had proved quite satisfactory, and the full service had been carried out in the province. Although membership had dropped, owing to many members being unable to continue using their cars, there was a surplus for the year of some £1400. The staff was to be complimented qn taking care of the association's finances so well. A review of the association's activities was given, which included a reorganisation of the territory to enable members to receive more individual attention from the patrols. Important improvements to roads had been made or decided upon following representations made by the association, and service generally had been maintained at the highest standard. The deaths during the year of two former presidents was referred to by Mr. Grayson. who said that both had served the association well, and motoring interests had profited by their work. Resolutions were passed by members congratulating the council, secretary and staff for their year's work.
