CENTRAL BANK BILL.

OPPOSITION IN AUCKLAND. \ Over two hundred people assembled at All Saints' schoolroom last evening to hear the address of Mr. J. J. Sullivan and Mr. B. Beckerleg in opposition to the Central Bank Bill as brought down la-st session by the Government. Mr. G. S. Bullen presided. The speakers declared that the Central Bank Bill, as proposed, would create "a State within a State"' in New Zealand, while New Zealand would find it<elf tied up to the foreign Bank of International Settlements in Switzerland. The following resolution was carried unanimously: "This meeting of Auckland citizens pledge ourselves to oppose by every constitutional means in our power the establishment in Xew Zealand of a Central Bank, and we call upon the Government to abandon the proposed Central Bank Bill, which lias all the features of alien legislation and the curtailment of our national selfgovernment."
