PROVINCIAL NEWS.

MERCURY BAY. The Mercury Bay Rugby Union's annual dance and cup presentations on Friday night was a great success. About 2."»0 people were present and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The hall was bedecked with nikau palms, bunting and the various clubs' colours. Five cups were presented, three by the president, Mr. A. B. White, the Kidd, Bryee and Rhodes Cups, and Mr. Arnold Morley presented him with the Birch (Thames) and White (Coromandel) Cups. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Bernice Creed and Mr. William Jackson. Supper whs provided by a number of lady supporters. TE KOPUNUI.

A flag s<)o party was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. McLeod, Te Kopunui, under the auspices of the local branch of the Roya! (X.Z.) Society for the Health of Women and Children. The winning table was Mrs. Matthews and Miss Worthington; consolation, Mesdamea R. P. Rope and J. Shick. Mr. J. IT. Stubbs thanked Mr. and Mrs. McLeod for their hospitality. Amongst those present were: Mesdames T. Bassett, R. Matthews, W. A. Haden, J. Johnson, G. Rikys, A. M. McLeod, J. K. Stubbs, R. J. Rope, N, McLeod, E. Meredith, Davidson, Kemp, E. R. Rope, W. A. Morgan, C. H. Auekett, T. Newport, J. New, Misses Marinkovich and B. Ross.
