MRS. M. D. STURGES.

A Waikato pioneer, Mrs. Margaret D. Sturges. died at Epeom, aged 84 years. She arrived at Auckland with her parents, Mr. ind Mrs. James Wallace, in the ship Joseph Fletcher, when four yearn of age. Later Wallace was married to the late W. N. Sturges, one of the early settlers at Pukeriinu. In 1008 Mr. and Mrs. Sturjes retired and went to live at Rukuhia, and in 1910 Mrs. Sturges came to Epsom to spend the evening of her long life. For over thirty years Mrs. Sturges was connected with the Preebyterian Church at Ohaupo and officiated as organist. She is survived by the following children: —Mr. J. G. Sturges, of Te Kuiti. Mrs, S. J. Harbutt, Mrs. B. Beckerleg, Mrs. Wilfrid Harbutt, Mrs. J. A. Steel and Miss Annie R. Sturges, 12 grandchildren and one great-grand-
