QUEEN CARNIVAL.
BIRKENHEAD DENTAL CLINIC
MORE THAN £220 RAISED.
The Birkenhead deijtal clinic will benefit by upwards of £220 by the school queen carnival, which closed on Saturday. The organisers were Messrs. H. Shaw and X. J. Campbell The total gathered for votes for the five queen candidates was £190. ' The respective figures were: —Birkenhead, £88; Xorthcote, £38; Albany, £29; Glenfield, £21; Birkdale, £14. The purchase value of a vote was in proportion.to the dental roll of each school. Miss Dorothy Foley, of 'Albany, was elected queen. The voting was: —Miss Dorothy Foley, Albany, 48,930; Miss Joan Klingender, Glenfield, .'34,71.3; Miss Sybil Norton. Birkenhead, 21,118; Miss Shirley Patterson, Birkdale, 10,704; Miss Yolande Cross, Xorthcote, 10,631.
The proceeds of the gala at the Xorth.■ote High School grounds on Saturday amounted to £60, which, however, will be substantially reduced by necessary expenditure incurred
