Winooka and Equipoise At Jamaica Track. STATEMENT BY SECRETARY, t (Received 12 neon.) NEW YORK, October 2. The racing secretary, Mr. McLennan, of the Jamaica Race Track, where New York's racing proceeds during the next fortnight, informed the Australian Press Association that, despite the report current in the local Press of a possible Winooka-Equipoise match here, there would be no match race at that course involving Winooka. Mr. McLennan, who is also secretary of the Havre de Grace track, said "We could not risk such a race until the horse proves himself. Many trainers last Saturday stated Winooka was a horse of very nice action."
