Mr. A. O. Wilkinson, of Christehureli, arrived "by the Limited this morning. Mr. W. Grounds was a passenger bv the Limited from Wellington this morning. Mr. W. G. Wolihnann. Commissioner of Police, will leave for Wellington this evening. Mr. J. Fletcher is leaving for Wellington and Dunedin by the Limited this evening. Mr. F. N. Ambler is leaving for Wellington by the Limited this evening and expects to return on Saturday. Mr. A. J. Court, a director of George Court and Sons, Ltd:, will leave by the Monowai this afternoon on a brief business visit to Sydney. Mr. H. C. Wilton, export manager for Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., Wellington, and Mrs. Wilton, will leave by the Monowai to-day for Sydney. Mr. A. D. S. Duncan, of Wellington, who is to play in the golf championships at Auckland, has arrived, with Mrs. Duncan. They are staying at the Grand Hotel. Dr. H. B. Leatham retired on Saturday from the position of! radiologist at the New Plymouth Public Hospital, which he had filled since he retired from the position of medical superintendent in 1910. Colonel R. C. Allen, of England, a brother ofl Sir Stephen Allen, of Morrinsville, is a passenger for New Zealand by the liner Tamaroa, which is due at* Wellington from London on October 11. Commander A. H. Maxwell-Hyslop, who has 'been appointed to H.M.s. Laburnum in succession to Commander R. Ramsbotham, is a passenger on the liner Tamaroa, which is due at Wellington on October 11. Major-General H. Sinclair-Burgess, G.O.C. New Zealand Defence Force, was a passenger to Frankton this morning by the Limited from Wellington. He was accompanied by Colonel Symon, Director of Artillery. Mr. W. M. Webster, B.Sc., M.R.C.V.S., the veterinary research officer of the Department of Agriculture at New Plymouth, has been promoted to the position of assistant ofßcer-in-cliarge of the Wallaceville Laboratory (Upper Hutt). Mr. E. Dewey, deputy-.general manager of the Prudential Assurance Company, London, arrived in Wellington by the Makura yesterday from Sydney on a visit to the New Zealand offices, of the company. He was accompanied by Mr. H. H. Redman, assistant general manager, and Mr. C. F. Warren, general manager for the company in Australia and New Zealand.
