TIME-SHEET FORGED.

RELIEF WORKER'S OFFENCE.

A relief worker appeared oil summons ii) the Police Court yesterday a charge of forging ail Auckland City Council time-sheet, knowing it to be falep, in order tliat it should be acted upon as genuine. Senior Detective Hall said he interviewed defendant on September 7 regarding the alteration of tljree timesheets (produced). Defendant said they were the ones he had filtered. Cross-examined by Mr. W. Nobje, for defendant, Senior Detective Hall said he nin)erstpc(d "defendant had recpiypd for three days fov the >yeek ended August 17, but tliQt lie worked three dfiys the following week to make up for it. A statement made by defendant w?is produced. He added that he was a married man with a wife and three children. Defendant pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence in the Supreme Court. He was allowed his liberty in the meantime.
