BROKEN AXLE.

NORTH EXPRESS DELAYED

COAL WAGON DERAILED.

A broken axle on a coal wagon caused a delay of one hour 12 minutes to the north-bound Whangarei express this morning. The south-bound train from Maungaturoto. due at Auckland at 12.,') p.m., was held up for two hours 43 minutes.

The mishap occurred between Konohi and Makarau, about ten miles north of Helensville. Tho coal wagon was unloaded and upset off the line to clear the way for the express.
