RELIEF WORKERS' MEAT.
SUPPLY AT ONEHUNGA. The relief workers at Onehunga received their last consignment of carcases of mutton from the Unemployment Board yesterday. Their allocation of meat has been reduced gradually from 55 sheep a week to 10 this week. Arrangements have been made for a continued weekly supply of meat from another source to include plenty of fresh beef as well as mutton. Yesterday five sides of beef in addition to the 10 fcheep were disposed of. It is stated that the relief workers cannot afford to spend more than about 2/ each week on meat. According to the new arrangement they will be able to purchase a large joint for that amount, with the added privilege of buying beef or mutton as they choose. The men are to be allowed to use the present butcher's shop for the sale of meat, which will be cut up and jointed as usual by two butchers who are on relief work.
