I THIRD DEFEAT. JACK SHARKEY ELBIINATED. PHILADELPHIA, September 27. In a 15-round boxing match in Philadelphia to-day, Tommy Loughran defeated Jack Sharkey. ,■•„,, . , • A- blow which dropped Sharkey to his knees in the tenth round was the margin which gave Loughran the decision. The judges divided and the referee scored six to Sharkey and six to Loughran, witft three rounds even. However, he voted for Loughran in the end because of the knock-down. The bout was thrilling. Loughran showed endurance to stand up under Sharkev's terrific body blows. The result has eliminated Sharkey irom the heavy-weight contenders.

This was Sharkey's second defeat since he lost the championship to Carnera, Ins other conqueror being King Lcvinsky.
