Fellmongers Hold Up Industry

The fellmongering industries of Sydney last evening were plunged into chaos by a sudden strike of 750 employees at five of the principal Botany fellmongeries. The dispute is due to the refusal of the employers to restore the 10 per cent wage cut imposed some time ago by the Court.
Tlie busiest time of tlic year was selected for the liold-up, and the employers declare that if the strike lasts three days 70,000 skins, valued at £35,000, will be rendered worthless.
MINE DISPUTE
150 DISMISSAL NOTICES
(Received 11.30 a.in.) SYDNEY, this clay. To tlie number of 150, miners and others employed in the Hermitage Colliery, Lithgow, received notice of dismissal following a dispute over the suspension of a miner allegedly for filling stone with coal. This was the second case in the week. The unionists demand the reinstatement of the second man, declaring that the coal was not excessively'dirty.
