DISTINGUISHED GATHERING.

A State luncheon to Rear-Admiral Dalglish, of the Australian Naval Squadron, and his senior officers, \v as tendered by the Government to-day. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon! G W. Forbes, presided, and besides JXi n ." isters, there were at the top table the Speakers of the two Houses of Parliament the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers)' Sir Francis Bell, the Mayor of Wellin-»! ton (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop), the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. H. E. Holland), and Commodore Bulges Watson, of the New Zealand squadron of the Royal Navy.
