RECORD MILEAGE COVERED*
REPORT FOR MONTH OF AUGUST,
The report of the activities of the St. John Ambulance Association for the 'month of August has been presented. Mr. S. E. Langstone, headquarters manager, commenting on the report, said that in no previous month had the ambulance covered such a mileage nor had so many cases been handled.
The report shows that 514 patients were carried, and 0177 miles were travelled, compared with 454 patients and 4920 miles for the month of July. Transfers at the Auckland Hospital numbered 257, as against 236 the previous month, and 320 Queen's wharf cases as against 288 for July. Out-patients who received treatment at the Rutland Street headquarters numbered 72.
A record month is also shown for the home nursing service, 1427 visits being paid by members who travelled 1894 miles in their cars. There were 543 patients on their books, and they had attended 2C4 out-patients.
