SEASON'S WHEAT.

Canadian Government Control

Of Marketing.

PROFIT OF PAST OPERATIONS

(•Received 10 a.m.) OTTAWA, September 8. That the policy of Government intervention to ensure orderly marketing of Canada's wheat crop will be carried out again this year is now accepted as definite among Ottawa observers. Information obtainable in official circles has been such as to indicate that no other course of action will be consistent in view of the recent wheat agreement signed in London.

There have been occasions in the last six months when the Government could have unloaded its wheat holdings at a profit, but so far as can be learned this was not done. The impression has been that the Government's venture has not been at a loss and probably shows a profit ou paper.
