FALSE FACSIMILE.

DETROIT BANKING INQUIRY. DETROIT, September 1. The "Detroit Free Press" publishes a facsimile of a broker's ledger account, showing that Father Coughlan, who has been giving 'sensational evidence at the "rand jury investigation into Detroit banking, had himself dabbled in the margin market and had lost heavily. In a sensational disclaimer, the priest declares the facsimile to be a false one. He denies that he ever "played the market." Father Coughlan, had made a charge that some leading politicians are blocking payments to the depositors in closed banking institutions. He also declared that headstrong American capitalism is doing more to foster Communism in the United States than the writings of Karl Marx, and insisted that the Detroit bankers had looted the innocent Detroit Trust Company.
