THE SPRING MEETING. ORIGINAL DATES GRANTED. The Avondale Jockey Club applied for October 14 and 16 as .the dates for its spring meeting, but when the matter came before the annual meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Racing Conference an objection to October 14 was entered by the Trotting Conference. The Racing Conference after discussion decided to refer the matter back to the dates sub-committee and later Avondale was granted October 7 and 9. At a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Racing Conference, held in Wellington this morning, it was decided to grant Avondale the original dates applied for, viz., October 14 and 16.
