RACING IN AMERICA.

C. MORSE'S VIEWS. TEA TRADER AND PILLOW FIGHT. BOTH DOING EXCELLENTLY. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") GISBORNE, this day. Confidence that the New Zealand horses, Pillow Fight and Tea Trader, will race successfully in America is expressed by their trainer, C. Morse, in a letter to friends in Gissborne. Morse says that Pillow Fight has been working very attractively, and is showing good form. A few months' vacation has been very beneficial to him, and his trainer is confident he will show American racegoers his high qualities. "He has developed into a magnificent horse," adds Morse, " and is greatly admired, as is also his companion, Tea Trader, the two standing well above the average American horse, especially in appearance. The public just worship our two horses, and every meeting we attend the horses and myself have been on show. They a great drawing card to racing over here."_ Morse says he saw Winooka compete in his 'Frisco match, but was not impressed by any means with his showing. He met only a moderate opponent, and had a job to shake him off. " However, I should not say that it was Winooka's tiue form." the Auckland trainer comments. "In my opinion, Pillow Fight or Tea Trader are sure to beat him on his present form should we have to meet him. Tea Trader ran half a mile in 475, and gave Seattle fans a shock. I am sure he is wanting a race. He looks very burly on it, but is a picture of health." _ _ . . Morse mentions that Mr. D. J. Davis is anxious to retain his services in America, but the writer is doubtful what attitude the immigration authorities will adopt, but he adds that Mr. Davis carries some weight over there. They take their hats oil to him. TBIAI-S AT , LONG ACRES. NEW ZEALAND HORSES SPRINT. SEATTLE, September 5. Serious work-outs were given to the Auetralian and New Zealand contingent on the Long Acres track to-day. Winooka and Pillow Fight worked together over five furlonge, the most ambitious move by either since they returned to training. With Pillow Fight on the outside and boring out continuously on the turns the pair finished in 1.0 4-5. Tea Trader -went with Trevelhon. Ihe latter was eased up at three furlongs in 375, while Tea Trader went half a mile in 50s.
