YOUNG MAORI'S DEATH.

SEQUEL TO INJURY. An inquest was opened by the coroner, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., this morning, into the death, in the hospital at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, of Peter Honi, a young Maori. Honi was admitted to the hospital suffering from stomach trouble. He had previously been examined by a doctor at Papaicura. In the report to the coroner the police stated that two weeks ago, Honi, received a bump on the stomach from the handle of a gorse grubber, and a lump afterwards developed on his abdomen. After evidence of identification had been taken, the inquest was adjourned sine die.
