LYNNDALE CLUB. Excellent conditions prevailed when the Lynudale Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club > held its weekly race over 25 miles on its circuit last Saturday. Eleven started in this event, *ind some good riding was witnessed. In the last few weeks several riders have improved out of sight, and K. Banks is one of these. His consistency is surprising, for he has been in the plaeiuge in every ride but one. His win last week was ins eeeond in succession, for he won the 18%-miler the week before. This puts him second for the points cup, and on his present form he has rosy prospects for the club's round-the-harbour eh-ampionshijj. He also gained fastest time in 79.1.
Hugh Norris is improving each week, and gained a well-deserved second place. He was third the week before, and fourth the week before that, so his improvement can easily be seen. C. May is also getting back to form. He was third last week, and also second fastest in 81.17. With a good handicap lie should perform well in the club championships. A. E. Davics was very unlucky to puncture at the end of the third lap, or he would certainly have been better placed than fourth. Borrowing a bike that h-id the seat too high, and losing valuable time, he plnckily continued to add to his points. He is third with 30 points for the Points Cup. E. Hughes 'Was the fastest rider up till the last lap, when he faded badly. He will be hard to beat next week.
Slat Watson ami William B. Robbins punctured. The scratch men must have decided to hold a club run of their own, for they were never in the picture.
Next week a short race of one lap, 6i miles, will be held to enable the riders to witness the finish of the Auckland .amateurs' hnrbnnr championship. This race has the added attraction of a cup, which is to be won outright, with a medal for fastest time. On the Sunday morning the club"* general monthly mooting will be held at tho Lynudale sheds, while in the afternoon a big club run over the harbour course will bo held. It lias been suggested that the -finish be at New Lynn instead of Western Springs for this race. AUCKLAND AMATEUR CLUB.
