"ANY BOTTLES?"

COLLECTORS CALL IN VAIN. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The "postman's knock drive" conducted in Wellington recently resulted in the collection of thousands of bottles, and city bottlemen, numbering about 100, have since been Tinablc to earn a living as there are no bottles left to collect. The men appealed to the bylaws committee of the City Council today to sec if any relief could be obtained.

It was stated that relief organisations, churches, scouts and other organisations were nollecting bottle to raise funds for various purpose?, and the bottlemen, who pay £1 a year license fee,,were unable to grt a living. It was suggested that householders should sell the bottles to the men iicensed to collect Liiem and hand the money over when a drive was made for i relief fands.
