PUKEKOHE RATES.

REDUCTIONS TOTAL £2834. THREE-YEARS' PERIOD. During the last three years, the amount demanded from the ratepayers of Pukekohe borough has been reduced by £2834, stated the Mayor, Mr. John. Routley, at a special meeting of the Borough Council. The reduction was equivalent to approximately 25 per cent. . The following rates for the current year are to be levied: General rate, 27.32 d; hospital rate, 8.32 d; street lighting rate, 3\32d; borough loane, 1 9-32d;,town district loans, 9-32 d; old borough 2-32 d; rubbish collection, 3/0 per receptacle; sanitary, 12/; water supply rate in respect of ordinary supply to lands and. dwelling houses of l-12th per cent on the annual value, minimum 10/; one-half of such rate on buildings other than dwelling houses and on lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not, supplied, situated within 100 yards of any part of the waterworks, minimum 5/.
