Mr. H. B. Johnston arrived from Wellington by the express this morning. Mr. Malcolm Fraser, Under-Secretary of Internal Affair.*, is at present in Auckland. Lieutenant R. £. Washbourn arrived by the Rangitiki this morning from England to join H.M.s. Diomede. Mr. C. A. Snerlden. president of the Xew Zealand Rugby league, arrived from Wellington this morning bv the Limited. Mr. C. 11. Clinkard, M.T. lor Kotorna, arrived this morning by the Limited from Wellington, and its proceeding to Kotorua. Mr. Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors of the Xew Zealand Co-operative, Dairy Company, Ltd., was a. passenger as far as Frankton by the Limited this morning. Major 0. C. Macpherson, a retired English Army officer, who arrived thw morning from England to spend a holiday in Xew Zealand, is staving at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Tctcr Dawson and Mr, Tapia-Caballero lunched to-day at Government House with their Excellencies Lord and Lady Bledisloe. They are leaving for Wellington this evening by the. Limited. Mr. T. A. Jackson, who has been chief accountant of the Xew Zealand Guarantee Corporation, Ltd., since its inception in 1923, has been appointed manager in place of Mr. F. H. Taylor, who has resigned. Colonel Albert Orsborn, the newlyappointed chief secretary for Xew Zealand for the Salvation Army, will arrive, in Wellington from England about August 21 with Mrs. Orsborn and three of their six children. Captain H. L. Timperley and Mrs. Timperley arrived by the Rangitiki this morning from England, and are staying at the Station Hotel. Captain Timperley lias been a stipendiary steward of the Australian Jockey Club for the past eight years.
