ATHENAEUM CUP.

GREY LYNN WIN DEBATE. Taking the affirmative, "That modern civilisation is a failure," the Grey Lynn team, represented by Messrs. L. Lees, G. I. Blacker aud A. G. Hultquist, beat the Y.M.C.A; representatives, Messrs.- R. W. Miller, C. E. J.dl and R. L. Barnfather, last evening. The judge, Mr. E. Aldridge, congratulated the teams, and particularly Mr. Hultquist, on the high standard shown. Grey Lynn scored 284 points to the Y.M.C.A.'s 276.

Two rounds have now been completed by both sections in the* contest for the Athenaeum Cup. In the first section Leys Institute has gained two wins and no losses; Fabian Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, St. John's College and Papa* toetoe, one Win and one loss; Training College B, no wins, two losses. In the second section Nomads have two wins and no losses; Y.M.C.A., Grey Lyrin, W. E. A. and Tamariki, one win. one loss; Training College A, no wins, two losses. When five rounds have been completed the leading teams of each section will meet in the final.
