Faith in Australia Makes Steady Progress. MONSOONS AND MUD. (Received 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, June 27. The Faith in Australia has arrived. Mr. C. T. P. Ulm said the flight to Calcutta was uneventful except for holdups at Alor Star for engine trouble, and at Rangoon, owing to the wheels of the 'plane being embedded in the mud. It took nearly three hours to extricate the machine and the flyers left at once for Calcutta. Monsoon conditions were bad between Alor Star and Rangoon. FIJI PORT OF CALL. TRANS-PACIFIC FLIGHT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, June 23. Mr. S. n. Ellis, of Suva, has been advised that Mr. C. T. P. Ulm has arranged to make Fiji a stopping place when crossing the Pacific, en route for Sydney. Captain P. G. Taylor, sccond pilot, when recently in Suva, decided upon the beach at Xavua, as the most suitable landing place. Xavua is a small settlement, on the south coast of Viti Lcvu, and about 18 miles from Suva to tho west. The beach is a fairly broad one, and as a rule is smooth. It will bo specially prepared for the landing. Supplies of fuel oil and petrol have already arrived from Sydney for the 'plane.
