SUNDAY PICTURES.

MOUNT ALBERT APPLICATION. Protesting against the suggestion to allow Sunday picture shows to raise money for the relief of the unemployed, three petitions from church congregations and five letters from the clergymen -were received at last night's meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council. A letter was received from the manager of the Theatre Royal asking that pictures be permitted on Sunday in that theatre to help raise funds for unemployment relief. Oil the motion of the Mayor, Mr. F. W. Stilwell, who said that further expressions of opinion could be expected; decision was deferred to next meeting.
