LORRY IN COLLISION.

PARTY FOR CHURCH MEETING. WOMEN IN HO SPIT Alt. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. Three women were injured when a motor lorry containing 20 passengers from Napier, on their way to a religious meeting at Hastings, was struck by a motor car on the Napier-Hastings Road, in the vicinity of the Whakatu turnoff, a few minutes before seven, o'clock last evening. The three injured, who were admitted to the Napier Hospital, and whose condition is reported as satisfactory are:— Mrs. Ada James, aged 57, of Burlington Eoad, Napier, deep scalp wounds. Mrs. Isabella McTaggart, aged 57, of Milton Eoad, Napier, severe cut on left side of forehead. Mrs. Nellie McEwen, aged 54, of Ossiau Street, Port Ahuriri, fracture of upper arm. The motor lorry, driven by Mr. B. Scott, was travelling towards Hastings when the accident occurrcd. The car, which was travelling in the direction of Napier, was driven by Mr. Charles McLeod, of Wanganui. The front of the car struck the driving side, of the lorry with such force that the lorry turned over on its side.
