Having successfully removed the Australian champion racehorse Winooka to satisfactory training quarters, his owners to-day opened negotiations with the lanforan officials regarding his possible appearance there, provided his training is completed before the meeting closes". It is estimated that the training will require about five weeks, -and. it is doubtful it the track will be _ still open, in which event the ownere will follow their original plan and come East on August 1. Winooka's training place is the King Heather farm, at Walnut Creek, 30 miles from San Francisco, the property of Mr. John Marchbank, a noted local breeder and sportsman. Winooka is eating Call" fornian oats and grain, but is using his own hay brought from Australia. There was some trouble in quarantine vesterday, the health inspectors insisting that some of the imported food was contaminated by flag smut. Fifteen sacks of wheat 'bran were condemned.
