NIAGARA ARRIVES.
NOTABLE PASSENGERS. AUSTRALIAN GEOLOGIST. With nearly 150 passengers, of wliom half disembarked at Auckland, the Niagara arrived from Sydney this morning and berthed shortly before 7 o'clock at the Central wharf. The liner will continue her voyage to Vancouver tomorrow morning, and 100 passengers have booked from this port. Among the through passengers are Mr. and Mrs. Warwick Fairfax, en route to London. Mr. Fairfax is managing director of the "Sydney Morning Herald." Mr. J. W. Eade, an Australian wheatgrower, is on his way to the world's grain exhibition at Regina, Canada. He is exhibiting wheat grown on his farm at Euchareena, in the central west of New South Wales. Referring to quotas, he said Australians were opposed to curtailment of wheatgrowing areas. Dr. A. B. Walkrom, of Sydney, is to represent the Commonwealth Government at the International Geological Congress at Washington. He /is general secretary of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science, and secretary of the Linnean Society, New South Wales.
