NO ECHO IN INDIA.

CONTROVERSY IN BRITAIN. CALCUTTA, June 19. The controversial storm raging in England over the British Government's White Paper and the future constitution of India has no echo in India, which asks only to bo saved from its defenders. / The "Statesman" says: "We in this country know that under the Earl of Willingdon's Government there has been a vast improvement. This is due not merely to his steady insistence on law and order, but also to his unwavering advocacy of constitutional advance. "The boycott is over, the country is peaceably disposed, and trade is improving. British business should be taking advantage of these facts, instead of listening to alarmists."
