BOROUGH NOTICES. LYNN BOROUGH COUNCIL. " RATES, 1933-34. Notice is hereby given that the New Lynn Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise ot its powers under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Rating Act. 1925, the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and all the Amendments thereof relating thereto, and any other powers enabling it in that behalf, intends, oil MONDAY, the 10th day of July, 1033, to make and levy for the year commenced on the Ist day of April. 1933. and ending on the 31st day of March, 1934, the following rates:— A General Rate of sixpence in the ft. A Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of one penny and eleven sixty-fourths of a penny in the £1. A Street Lighting Rate of tliirty-four sixty-fourths of a penny in the £1. A War Memorial Museum Rate of seven sixty-fourths of a penny (for maintenance of the Auckland Institute and Museum). In the Pound sterling upon the ratable unimproved value of all ratable property, as appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in and for the Borough of New Lynn, the said Rates to be payable on the 24th day of July, 1933, to N. 1!. Cathie, the Council's Collector, or to such otln!r person as may bo appointed to collect the same. SPECIAL RATES. The Special Rates (recurrent) to provide [ interest' and sinking funds on loans as ■ follows:— (A) OVER THE NEW LYNN TOWN DISTRICT RATING AREA. 1. Antecedent Liability "Loan.—A rate of seven sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (7-04 d.) 2. Special Reserves Loan.—A rate of seven sixtv-fourths of a penny in the pound. (7-n-id.) 3. Storm water Drainage Loan. —A rate of eleven sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (11-04(1.) 4. Water Reticulation Loan. —A rate of one penny and twenty-nine sixty-fourths of a penny in the £1. (1 29-Old.) 5. Footpath Formation Loan.—A rate of eleven sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (11-04 d.) G. Main Highways Loans. —A rate of forty sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (40-04 d.) , . 7. Streets Improvements Loans. —A rate oi thirty-two sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (32-64 d.) S. Sewer Drainage Loans. —A rate or sixpence and lifty-eight sixty-fourths of a penny in" the pound. (6 58-04 d.) (B) OVER THE KELSTON DISTRICT RATING AREA. Annual Loan Charges.—A Special Rate of sixpence ajid three sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (6 3-64(1.) (C) OVER TIIE BOROUGH OF NEW LYNN. Whau Bridge Reconstruction Loan.—A rate of nine sixty-fourths of a penny in the pound. (9-64 d.) WATER RATES. And further, that in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Rating Act, 1925, and all Amendments thereof, and any other powers enabling it in that behalf, the New Lynn Borough Council intends, on MONDAY, the 30th day of July, 1933, to make and levy for the year commenced on the Ist dav of April, 1933, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1934, the following Water Rates, viz.:—• ORDINARY SUPPLY. —In respect of the Ordinary Supply, upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied (except supplies by meter), a rate of fourpcnce (4d) in the Pound on the unimproved ratable value of all such property, with a minimum charge of Ten Shillings (10/). NON-CONSUMERS.—Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within oue hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, a rate ot One Pennv in the Pound on the unimproved ratable value, with a minimum charge of Five Shillings (5/). Upon the ratable unimproved value of all ratable property a<3 appearing in the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in and for the Borough of New Lynn, the said rates to be pavable in each case in one sum on the 24th day of July, 1933, at the Council Chambers, Great North Road, New Lynn, to N. R. Cathie, the Council's Collector, or to such other person or persons as may lie from time to time appointed to collect the same. REBATE FOR PROMPT PAYMENT. Notice is hereby given that under the provisions of Section 454 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the New Lynn Borough Council has resolved to allow a Rebate of 5% (live per cent) on such portion of the current amalgamated rate as is paid within thirty days after the due date thereof, being August y, 11)33, conditionally upon all previous charges due to the Council in respect to the property being rated having been satisfied. 24 OF TAKAPUNA. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE RATES. Notice is hereby given that the Takapuua Borough Council, in J purshance of powers conferred under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920 the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 192t>, the Rating Act, 1920, the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1910, anil all other powers enabling it in that behalf, intends, at a Meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on WEDNESDAY, July 12, 11)33, at 7 p.m., to make and levy tor the year commenced on the First Day of April, 1033, and ending on the Thirty-first Day of March, 1934. (1) A Consolidated Rate of Eightpence (Sd) in the £, such rate, including a General Rate of Two and Fifty-Seven, Hundredths of a Penny (2 57-100 d) in the ", a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of Sixty-live Hundredths of a Penny (G5-100d) in the £, and Special Rates of Four and Seventy-eight Hundredths of a penny (4 TS-lOOd) in the £ upon the Unimproved Value of all ratable property* situated within the Borough of Takapuua, payabie in one instalment on the lltli day of August, 1933, at the Council Office, Lake Road, Takapuua, to 11. L. Bowden, Borough Treasurer, or to such person as may be from time to time appointed by the Local Authority to collect rates. « (2) Refuse Removal. —A uniform annual fee of Thirteen Shillings (13/) for the Removal of Refuse from the first day of April, 1933, to the Thirty-first day of March, 1934, upon all properties situated within the Borough of TaUapuna as have a Building erected thereon from which the Council is prepared to remove Refuse, payable in one instalment on the 11th day of August, 1933. (3) Water Supply.—ln respect of all Water supplied by meter, a minimum charge of One Pound Four Shillings (£1 4/), covering the period commencing the First Day of April, 1933, and ending the Thirty-first Day of March, 1934, such rate or charge being due and payable in advance in one instalment on the First Day of April, 1933. For all Water consumed during the said period in excess of Sixteen Thousand (IU.otA.) Gallons, a rate or charge of One Shilling and Sixpence (1/0) per Thousand (llXßi.i Gallons, the charge for excess supply being due and payable on the Firot Day of April, 1934.

(4) Upon all Lands and Buildings to which Water is supplied otherwise than by meter, whose annual value does not exceed Twelve Pounds Ten Shillings (£l:2 10/), a rate ot Ten Shillings (10/) per annum, exceeding that value, a rate of Five Pounds (£■">) per ccnttim per annum on such annual value for the period First Day o£ April, UK!-!, to the Thirty-first day of March, 1934, payable in one instalment on the 11th day of August, 1933. (o) Upon each and every property to which Water can be, but is not, supplied, situated within One Hundred Yards ol' any part of the Borough Waterworks, a Noucensnmer's lii < > ot One llalf the foregoing amounts for the period First Day of April, 193.'J, to Thirty-first Oay of March, jjayable in one instalment on the 11th day of August, 1933. The above Kefuse, Water Supply Charges, and Rates to be payable in each case to the Council Office, Lake Road, Takapuna, to H. L. Bowden, Borough Treasurer, or to such person as may from time to time lieduly appointed by the Local Authority to collect rates. The Estimates upon which the above Rates, Charges, and Fees are being struck have been approved by the Council, and are open for inspection, together with the Valuation Roll, at the Council Office, during Office Hours: 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.; Saturday, 5.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. 11.
