OVERSEAS TEAMS. CANTERBURY WANTS AMERICANS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) riIRISTCIIUKCH, 'Thursday. The Canterbury Athletic Centre this evening discussed a proposal forwarded from the New Zealand Athletic Association concerning a (our of New Zealand by visiting athletes next season. The association wrote that the cost of an American tour was considered too great, and asked the centre to give its opinion on inviting a team of four Australians. Delegates held that a visit of an American team would be preferable, and it was decided to inform the New Zealand council that, before deciding on a tour by overseas athletes, the centre would prefer to have full information on comparative costs of inviting three Americans or four Australians.
