ESTATE OF FATHER.
ADDITIONAL GRANT MADE.
HELP IN EARLIER YEARS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON,- Friday. In a written decision, Mr. Jueticc MacGregor made an order in the Supreme Court granting William Charles Livcrton, station hand, of l'akowai, an additional allowance of £l">0 a year, to be paid to him dining hits life by equal monthly payments, to form a charge on the net residue of hie father's estate. 1
This wae an application by the son under the Family Protection Act for better provision out of the estate of his father, William Alfred Liverton, sheep farmer, deceased, who left an estate valued at over £100,000. Eight counsel were briefed on behalf of various interests. It was stated for the trustees that they had decided simply to abide by tho judgment of the Court. They did not propose taking any active part in cither opposing or supporting the claim. His Honor said he had taken into jtecount the long and almost gratuitous assistance given by plaintiff to his father many years ago in building up the family estate, ae well as the probable loss by plaintiff in the near future of his present yearly wages and afeo an annuity, gratuitously given him out of a brother's estate. Counsel for plaintiff at tho Supreme Court hearing' said that testator died aged 91 years. The residue of the estate at present ivan £48,000, but on the death of testator's widow a further £28,000 would fall into residue. Plaintiff was Gl ycara of age. If he followed medical advice he would be thrown back on his income of approximately £140 a year, which he derived from a trust fund under the will. He had anuual expenses to meet for the maintenance of his only surviving son, and, provided the rate remained as at present, he had left a net income of about £100 out of the fund. It was also stated that testator married three times, and some of tho beneficiaries belonged to each of the three families.
