ROAD CONTROL.

WHANGAREI, Friday.
The road maintenance control of the Oakleigh - Waipu - Maungaturoto Road was fully discussed by the Whangarei County Council this morning. "The whole position is chaos," eaid the chairman, Mr. L. Webb. "It eeems to be the inclination of the Public Works Department to get control of the expenditure of grants for maintenance. I think we should look after the maintenance 'of our own roads." Mr. T. N. Blake moved that the matter be left to the riding member and the engineer to discuss with the district engineer. ', Jlr. Webb: I would like you to add my name. I would like to be in it. I am not satisfied with the way things arc going on.-. I The matter was left to the sub-com-mittee.
