MINING LICENSES.
INCREASE DURING YEAR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Minister of Mines, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, states that 1982 new mining licenses were granted during the year ended March 31 last, compared with 1276 in -the previous year. Mining privileges struck off the register totalled 154, compared with 142 last year.
