TO SCHOOL BOOK PURCHASERS. (By Telegraph.—Fress Association.) GISBORNE, this day. The decision that no offence had been committed was given by Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., this morning in a prosecution under the Trading Coupons Act, in which Mrs. "Eastwood, bookseller, was < l efenda'ht consequent upon having issued to purchasers of school hooks to the vfiliK) of 4/ a theatre matinee ticket. The magistrate held that the law provided that coupons should lie redeemjiblc for cash, but there was no section which said that if a person contravened ti'nt provision he would be liable for the offence.
