THEATRE MATINEE TICKET.
TO SCHOOL BOOK PURCHASERS. (By Telegraph.—Fress Association.) GISBORNE, this day. The decision that no offence had been committed was given by Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., this morning in a prosecution under the Trading Coupons Act, in which Mrs. "Eastwood, bookseller, was < l efenda'ht consequent upon having issued to purchasers of school hooks to the vfiliK) of 4/ a theatre matinee ticket. The magistrate held that the law provided that coupons should lie redeemjiblc for cash, but there was no section which said that if a person contravened ti'nt provision he would be liable for the offence. Further, though the defendant was charged with having redeemed c-iupons, the magistrate did not think eV.c had redeemed them. m'
